Yoga. Great exercise, or a deepening of your body and mind awareness? A way to get fit, or to calm down? Transcending the present, or becoming more present?

It’s all those things (you knew that). But often we don’t get the time to experience all those things from one yoga session.

My hope is that through extended (two hour) sessions, held on traditionally non-working days (Friday night/Saturday/Sunday), you will get to experience a fully-rounded physical practice that balances the mind and restores the inner workings of your being.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Shanti Sunday… in the heart of Kensington

Restorative Yoga Afternoon
3.30 – 5.30pm, Sunday 1st July 2012 ONE SPACE AVAILABLE
Shanti Yoga Centre, Kensington, London

If yoga were a smorgasbord, Restorative yoga would be the dessert.

Restorative yoga is a subtle transformative form of Hatha Yoga, comprising postures (supported and floor based) that reach deep into the nervous system, dismantling chronic tension patterns and improving fundamental bodily functions that support our health.

Restorative yoga has the ability to quiet restless and/or anxiety-provoked minds as it allows the individual to connect to their body’s innate sense of balanced calm.

The venue for this Sunday afternoon practice could not be more apt: the Shanti Yoga Centre is a beautiful boutique yoga studio, hidden away in a garden in a serene part of Kensington, west London.

This session will include peace-giving Pranayama (breathwork) and Yoga Nidra (a guided deep relaxation). It is ideal for: all levels of yoga practitioner; sportsmen/women and bodyworkers; individuals seeking inner and physiological balance. (Complete beginners to yoga should email me first).
