Here I guide you through a practice to steady the mind and lift the spirit. It will bring you into the present moment, and can also help steady your nerves and mind, and lift your mood and motivation. 20 minutes: first five minutes is explanation and introduction.

Mindfulness: Metta Meditation 

In this 20 minute meditation, I guide you through a practice designed to evoke feelings of kindness, goodness and compassion to others and yourself. It’s a practice inspired by Metta (the Pali word for loving kindness) with Buddhist roots, but it is shared in a way that anyone can engage and benefit from it, whether you are new or experienced in meditation. You can also use this meditation to practice mindfulness, coming into the here and now and helping to calm the mind and heart. We hope you enjoy.

Here is a practice to help us steady ourselves so we can meet the stress, and deal with it. You will examine where in your body you are feeling the stress or anxiety, acknowledge it, then intervene and tell your body “it’s OK”. That will help us build our internal capacity to deal with hard times.
